Even though they are called "chakras" in most New Age philosophies, I tend to technically call them "theta spheres." Why "theta spheres"? The word "theta" derives from the ancient Greek letter symbolizing psyche (mind, spirit, etc.). I do suggest that even though they are called "chakras" in the New Age religion, it is best to refer to them as "theta spheres," since the New Age "chakras" are totally different from the Hindu and Buddhist chakras.
The theta spheres all have names that distances them from the original chakras. They have the same colors and postions in the body, but they are New Age nonetheless. And now, a description of the theta spheres.
Gaia, after the mythical mother, is the base sphere located at the base of the spine. Her color is red and Her function is enrootment. The deity level of Gaia is elemental (pertaining to natural elements) and the development level is childhood (0-7).
Eros, after the goddess of love, is the sexual sphere located at the lower abdomen. Her color is orange and Her function is sexuality and creativity. The deity level of Aphrodite is personal (attributing human traits) and the development level is preteen (8-14)
Apollo, named after the sun god, is the emotion sphere located at the solar plexus. His color is orange and His function is emotion. The deity level of Apollo is noble (certain rulers being divine) and the development level is teenage (15-21).
Eros, named after the god of love, is the love sphere located at the heart. His color is green and His function is unconditional love. The deity level of Eros is shamanic (being accessed by a few) and the development level is young adult (22-28).
Zeus, after the god of wisdom (and the head god), is the wisdom sphere located at the collarbone. His color is blue and His function is wisdom and judgment. The deity level of Zeus is mystical (experienced by open people) and the development level is late adult (29-35).
Uranus, named after the Father Sky, is the intuition sphere located at the crest between the eyes. His color is indigo and His function is higher knowledge. The deity level of Uranus is collective (everyone is deity) and the development level is middle aged (36-42).
Psyche, after the goddess of the Universe, is the sphere of Ultimate Reality located at the uppermost part of the forehead. Her color is violet and Her function is unity with deity. The deity level of Psyche is holographic (in every cell, in every atom) and the development level is mature (43-49 and beyond).
